      Fire Stave is actually a good melee weapon. Just add in damage accessories, melee reach and speed. Arts are good, but undoubtedly the best is level 2, as it does good damage quickly. Could be the first weapon you make, as the drops are all from the first mage.(if you had terrible drop luck, then fight the Named Cryomancer, a pyromancer appears in the same location you found the Named version.

        Fairly good weapon class. Staves definitely have the most varied and interesting runic arts to play around with; which they should, but I would suggest carrying a rage-using side weapon for those occasions you find yourself out of focus.
