Key Items in Salt and Sacrifice is a category of item that are usually present in most RPG games. These items are used to unlock areas or are necessary for quest progression. Key Items can be found throughout the game, either by discovering them at a certain area or by receiving it as drops after eliminating a certain enemy. Essence of Fire	Key Item	A bright red substance of alien material: crystalline yet gelatinous, shifting unpredictably.
Essence of Sky	Key Item	A cool blue substance of some exotic nature: rigid and icily smooth, yet altering shape in tremor-like waves.
Ethercloth Bolt	Inquisitor Tool	A length of ethercloth stretched over two wooden posts. Ether vents have littered the snowy rise of Dreadstone Peak since long before the rise of Mages, though far more of these rifts have opened in recent times. Hold [lt] while over an ether vent to ascend to new heights.
Filthy Key	Key Item	A grime-ridden key found near the throne at the Tomb Temple of Bol Gerahn. It left a greasy stain in the canvas bag from which it was retrieved. There may be something to the rumors of a hidden passage in the sewers beneath the temple after all.
Forged Deed	Crime	A forged deed of ownership to a modest parcel of land in Altarstone Kingdom. Whoever purchases this forged deed is in for quite a rude surprise.
Grappling Hook	Inquisitor Tool	A well-crafted iron hook attached to a flexible rope. A skilled Inquisitor with a grappling hook can dance effortlessly across the night sky. Launch yourself toward grappling points by pressing [rt] while airborne.
Gray Starstone	Key Item	A cluster of shuddering gray minerals. It shifts uncomfortably, as if it is unsure of its place in space and time. Use it at the Trifaul Idol in Pardoner's Vale to unlearn nodes in the Tree of Skill, transforming it into Black Starstone.
Gray Tome of Fates	Key Item	A tome found in Ashbourne Village. Its pages are filled with indecipherable glyphs. Runereader Diedela would probably know what to do with this.
Hideout Key	Key Item	A small bronze key. It seems like a secret thing for secretive folks, dungeon-dwelling smugglers and outlaws.
Krine Tablet	Crime	A tablet of Krine, the judging god. The first and seventh acts of the Seven Heresies are to place one's foot on the tablet, symbolizing that one's actions begin and end according to the will of the individual, not the will of the gods.
Lock of Hair	Crime	A lock of hair, bound together as a kind of keepsake.
Luminstone	Inquisitor Tool	A shard of a rare mineral called luna. Moonlight is said to hold memories of places forgotten; these memories can be trapped in circles of runed stone, briefly reemerging under the glow of a shard of luna. Activate stone circles with [b].
Magnesin Supply	Inquisitor Tool	A canvas bag containing a suitable supply of magnesin stones. Magnesin stones function as energy sources for the various pulley transit systems scattered around Ossenleigh Valley. Activate transit systems using [b].
Ochre Tome of Fates	Key Item	A tome found in Bol Gerahn. Its pages are filled with indecipherable glyphs. Runereader Diedela would probably know what to do with this.
Signal Lantern	Crime	A brass signal lamp with a sturdy base and reinforced handle. It relies on tiny bursts of flame and concentrated quicklime to illuminate the lens, allowing sailors to communicate from a great distance.
Simple Key	Key Item	A simple metal key. It seems to be of a type typically associated with metal lockboxes.
Steel Key	Key Item	A very small, very light steel key. Keys like this are commonly used in metal lockboxes.
