Patch Notes for Salt and Sacrifice features an overview of all the patches released by the developer and publisher, Ska Studios. The following patches are free and are released via online PlayStation Network for the Playstation and Steam for PC. These patches focus on game balance, performance and localization issues.

Salt and Sacrifice Patch 1.0.1.0: The Shunned Namekeeper
November 1st 2022
Update New Content
- New Namekeeper NPC/Merchant.
- Many weapons, armor, and other items sold by the Namekeeper.
- The merchant NPC inventory has been expanded.
- The kingsguard now sells royal equipment.
- Tarcloth for buffing mundane weapons.
- Essence for breathing magical attacks.
- Incense for restoration and recovery buffs.
- Dagger items that allow sacrificing HP for rage, focus, or ammo.
- Hourglass for resetting roaming mages.
- Bowl of Pages for locating roaming mages.
- Tattooed Egg for sparring with your cooperative partners.
- Show/Hide helmet option in Settings->Gameplay that also syncs over the network.
Fixes / Improvements
- The cost of equipment purchased with silver has been adjusted to reflect the equipment tier.
- Players in NG+ no longer need to unlock NPCs for matching they’ve unlocked on previous playthroughs with their character.
- Players in NG+ are no longer limited to matchmaking with players based on maps they’ve visited on their current game iteration.
- Fated hunts may sometimes reward multiplayer tokens.
- Icon added in stores and crafting screens to indicate which items the player already owns.
- Ranged attack cooldowns have been adjusted to prevent spamming attacks by canceling animations.
- Chrono bubbles will no longer slow time for friendly targets.
- Suffocating Rain and other runic arts attacks sync better over the network.
- Fated Hunt descriptions now show the correct tier in NG+.
- Music no longer relies on Windows Media Player being installed (Windows only).
- Starstones in storage can be used for leveling.
- Incorrect upgrade level icons no longer render over artifacts/charms.
Salt and Sacrifice Patch 1.0.0.8
June 12th 2022
- Summoned mage minions now properly go into their warp-in animation instead of being able to attack immediately.
- Homing projectiles no longer target creatures outside of an arena during a boss fight.
- Fixed an issue that caused mission completion to not properly award salt and silver based on mission difficulty. Mission rewards have been increased as a result of the fix.
- Artifacts that increase salt or silver gain now impact mission rewards as well.
- Increased serpent pendant and gravetender’s dagger effects.
- Increased Vampiric Stave’s blood blessing effect.
- Fixed an issue that could sometimes make a remote player appear to rapidly glitch between two locations or not render at all.
- The enhancing equipment menu now ignores items in the stockpile.
- The matchmaking requirement for a player to have the same progression tools unlocked as the host has been removed. They will now temporarily gain access to any tools the host has unlocked.
- Picking up items from the ground will now pick up all items within pickup range.
- Items dropped from very tall enemies will drop closer to the ground to prevent items from falling on the platforms above.
- It’s now easier to grapple tall mages such as the bibliomancer.
- Player nameplates will no longer render above a player using the chameleon potion.
- Censer of Harmony is now usable by all non-invader players instead of just the host when a Shroud Alliance has invaded. The duration of the effect has been reduced to 2 minutes per use.
- Added a cooldown to the Mind Blast runic art.
- Hazeburnt now properly spawn in Hallowed Hill.
- Reduced the likelihood of accidentally spending a black pearl immediately after refunding a skill node.
- Added keyboard support for scrolling item descriptions.
- Fixed an issue where buffs/debuffs could be visible after exiting to the main menu.
- Fixed a few rare crashes.
This has been released for PC, PS5 and PS4.

Salt and Sacrifice Patch 1.0.0.7
May 24th 2022
- Only hosts or full co-op players can interact with the divine tree.
- Trophy sell prices have been adjusted.
- Updated localization.
- Invaders can no longer attack bosses.
- Fixed range attacks using incorrect poise values.
- Short bow attack speed has been decreased.
- Throwing axe attack speed has been increased.
- Fixed an issue causing some named mages to show a generic name when playing online.
- Remote players can no longer enter blocked arenas.
- Fixed an issue that could cause a mage hunt mission to not complete correctly if the player joined a matchmaking session in the middle of the hunt.
- Broken rotwood platform respawn rates have been increased.
- Invaders and defenders should no longer trigger a boss splash screen and HP bar after completing their mission when a host has entered a boss arena.
- Fixed a few rare crashes.
- Fixed blocking stagger and stamina usage in PVP.
This will be the next patch to go out on console as soon as it finishes testing.

Salt and Sacrifice Patch 1.0.0.6
May 21 2022
- Partial stamina regeneration during hit animations to reduce stunlocking.
- PVP payout is more consistent with the current character level. Silver rewards increased.
- Players warping into a word have 4 seconds of invulnerability frames.
- Damage over time attacks can be parried without taking damage.
- Blocking now partially blocks incoming damage over time attacks.
- Players will always replenish a minimum number of flasks and ammunition even if they don’t have the materials to craft them. The amounts are the pre-upgraded values.
- Sprinting and dodge rolling in Pardoner’s Vale no longer consumes stamina to allow faster traversal.
- Confusion debuffs take more hits to proc in PVP.
- Item drops will now fall through a platform when it breaks.
- Players matchmaking in a higher or lower NG+ level will now see proper damage and boss HP.
- Fixed a bug that could result in a player taking fall damage when being warped to a boss fight.
- Increased forcecrystal ring effect.
- Earth Spikes runic art damage increased.
- Fixed the umbramancer side hunt sometimes entering an undefeated boss arena.
- Fixed an arena camera issue that affected ultrawide displays.
- The Searing Confessor’s attack now factors in the player’s fire defense.
- Fixed kineto boots animation.
- Fixed a crash in the skill tree.

Salt and Sacrifice Patch 1.0.0.5
May 16th 2022
- Fixed a bug that can sometimes prevent completing the Inquisitor Amben questline.
- Fixed a bug where the runegate could become unusable for a player until closing the game.
- Preventing players from getting into a state where they could have rescued a PVP faction NPC without getting access to their hideout.
- Kinetomancer heart drop rates have been restored to the proper value.
- Fixed the game potentially skipping NG+ if both the local and remote co-op players manage to activate the ending at the same time.
- Fixed a bug where quitting to the main menu while trying to join a game with matchmaking with a candle could result in a save being overwritten.
- Preventing the game crashing when the graphics driver doesn’t like the current video settings.
- Fixing a few crashes while playing online.

Salt and Sacrifice Patch 1.0.0.5a (hotfix) May 17th 2022
- Fixed a regression in the last patch which caused some mages to be killable before reaching their arena.
- Fixed a bug where failing to connect to another player could result in a player’s max HP being temporarily stuck at 0.
- Message posts from players are now lower priority than most all other interactions.

Salt and Sacrifice Patch 1.0.0.4
May 15th 2022
Decreased total time players can be air-juggled or bounced.
Poise can reduce max air-juggle/bounce time for players.
Increase stagger window for ripostes.
Local co-op players can teleport to each other by opening and closing the game menu or loadout. Doesn’t work while invaded.
Damage over time particles no longer cause players to stagger (rotwood bow, etc).
Increased focus flask recovery rates based on max focus.
Fixed focus regen charms so they can increase focus from flasks over 10.
Fixed a side mage hunt that ended in a potentially locked boss room.
Biblio runic arts have been rebalanced.
Fixed artifacts temporarily change values when removed from storage.
Fixed some boss spawn issues after a dialog.
Fixed some cases that could cause a player to not leave after a multiplayer session.
Fixed world desync that could sometimes happen during fated hunts.
HUD can now also be scaled down instead of just up.
UI and HUD fixes.

May 12th 2022
- Fixed save issues caused by Windows security settings.
- Increased harvest rates for herbs, ore and haze spiral.
- Increased stamina recovery based on carrying weight.
- It’s now easier to dodge after blocking an attack.
- Roaming mages outside of missions can now be tracked by particles once you’re about halfway into the pursuit.
- PVP XP rewards limited to current character level.
- General game stability fixes.
- Networking stability fixes.

May 11th 2022
- Updated Japanese localization.
- The order of runic arts on weapons now matches button order for all weapons.
- Killing a boss as a Dawnlight ally no longer counts as killing the boss in your own world.
- Button reassignment should show the correct button in most (all?) locations.
- Fixed issues when remapping buttons with a mouse.
- Increasing matchmaking success rate.
- Implemeneted ranged aiming with keyboard.
- Games saves when returning to camp from a matchmade session.
- Invasion cooldown adjustments so players aren't invaded immediately after summoning an ally.
- Gray Starstones can be used to refund the current highest level class skill for respecing.
- Performance improvements.
- General game stability fixes.
- Networking stability fixes.
