Heart of Altarstone Walkthrough for Salt and Sacrifice

Home of the Champions

To access this area, first head to Bol Gerahn and look for the merchant by the bridges in the Unclean Oasis. When you reach Desolate Plain, make your way down to the Creeping Caves, continue down after the first zipline, and continue down the right. Jump onto the platform and walk through the secret wall to reach Unclear Oasis. Head down the stairs and make your way across the platforms and on the other side, you'll find an NPC. Speak to him to gain a bottle of Altarstone Vintage. Head back to camp and speak with Runereader Diedela and give her the bottle of Altarstone Vintage, and you will obtain the runes for the Heart of Altarstone. When you are ready to depart, you can head over to the basket and select Heart of Altarstone to input the set of runestones to activate the portal.

When you've teleported, a short cinematic will play showing your character on a chair at the end of a table drinking from a cup and passing out. You will wake up in the Home of the Champions by a Beacon. Go ahead and activate that, head west into a room to activate a Crimson Pillar and an NPC at the end of the room. Interacting with the NPC will have him ask you if you seek Glory or Atonement. After speaking with him, head back out where you came in. Go towards east of the beacon and head down the stairs, going all the way down the stairs will lead you to a locked door, you will need to open it from the other side, so head to the entryway on the first landing to reach Old Altarstone, The Drowned City

Old Altarstone, The Drowned City

Head up the stairs to find an enemy with a sword waiting by the stairs. Take him out and continue up onto the tip of the roof, face west, and use your grappling hook to make your way up onto a platform. Head inside the room to find several breakable boxes and some enemies. Jump up the platforms to reach a door, head through, and use your grappling hook to get across to reach a platform with an entrance. Head through it to find some grappling targets above that are too high to reach, and make your way down to fight a large mummy-like enemy instead. After defeating it, you will notice a path to drop down. Stick to the right wall and you will find a hidden entrance on the second to the last panel, when you reach it, try to find your way onto a ladder as it is still hidden until you hop onto the ladder. Climb up the ladder to make your way to the top and wall jump from platform to platform and head through an entrance to find yourself on the top of the previous room. Use your grappling hook to make it to the other side of a platform with an entrance. Go through it and take the ladder up, head up the stairs, perform a wall jump, and use your grappling hook to reach the ledge with the lantern. There will be an entrance, enter to find yourself in another room with breakable platforms and grappling targets, use your grappling hook, and perform wall jumps to make your way up to Rat's Roost.

In the room with the hidden entrance, continue down the stairs, and on the first landing, there is a room you can go into. In the room, you will find some enemies and a zipline base to unlock. At the end of the room is a door but it has to be opened from the other side. Taking the zipline up will lead you to the roof near the entrance of Old Altarstone, The Drowned City. Go back to the stairs before the room with the shortcut zipline, and continue down the area. Head back out to the stairs after the hidden entrance and continue down, at the bottom of this room, there is a room towards the west. Enter to find a ledge and a set of rooftops down below, and make your way down to a roof with an enemy. Take it out and continue towards the west. Make your way off the roof to find a door on the east side but it has to be opened from the other side, instead, continue onto the left side. Enemies will drop down so clear them out and continue. Head up the stairs to find another door, but it does not open from that side. Instead, continue up by the platforms to land on another roof, head all the way up to pick up 3 Twin Frospyr. Go back to the wooden platforms and make your way towards the east is a room with a rat enemy with a large knife, head up on the platform to reach the grappling target and make your way to the other side. Perform a wall jump to make it to the ledge, there will be some broken boxes and some enemies. After clearing the area, you will find a ladder at the end of the room. Climb up the ladder to find some wooden platforms, a door on the right, and an Obelisk on the left. After activating the obelisk, head in the room next to it for now. Go across the roofs, drop down and continue to the very end to the entrance. Go to the next room to end up at a boss arena of Shirenna, True Herbalist. Defeat the boss, and head to the entrance on the west side of the room to arrive at the Place of Gathering. Head back to the platform with the Obelisk before the boss arena, and head to the door on the right. This opens a shortcut back to the zipline you have opened prior.

Boss Fight: Shirenna, True Herbalist

Moveset:

  • Charge Urn Smash: Shirenna will charge towards players and smash his urn on the ground. Players can either run towards Shirenna and dodge roll into him to avoid the attack or dodge roll away from the attack.
  • Multiple Urn Smash: Shirenna will smash the urn multiple times on the ground. It is best for players to just dodge out of the way while he performs this attack.
  • Scratch: When Shirenna sets down his urn, he will use his hands to try to scratch at you as he walks to you.
  • Jump Slash: When Shirenna sets down his urn, he will jump and slash down when he lands.
  • Grab: Shirenna will try to grab the player, and if he does this successfully, he will smash the player down onto the ground. To avoid this, players can dodge out of the way to avoid getting grabbed.

Strategy:

In the beginning of the fight, Shirenna will use his urn as a weapon to attack you. His attacks at this stage would be to use his urn to smash you either a single charged attack or with multiple swinging attacks. The best way to avoid these is to dodge the attacks. When his health is below 50%, he will set down his urn and a chained mummy will emerge to heal him. While he's getting healed, he will start to perform attacks where he will try to scratch you, he will also perform a jumping attack and slash when he reaches the ground, his last one is where he will try to grab you. If he successfully grabs you, he will smash you into the ground. To avoid these attacks, simply perform dodge rolls out of the way of his reach. You will have to destroy the urn to stop the mummy from healing Shirenna, then proceed to defeat Shirenna.

Rat's Roost

When you make your way up from the hidden wall and reach Rat's Roost the first platform on the west will have a room. Enter the room and pick up 3 Twin Voidepyr next to the Obelisk and, lastly an NPC at the end of the room. Speak to him and he will talk about how an "infection" has taken over Old Altarstone. Head back out and make your way over the platforms to the other side to enter another room. Head down the stairs to find yourself in a boss battle with The Keeper and the Kin. After defeating the boss, head back to the NPC in the room with the Obelisk. Speak to him to find out he was sent to defeat the bosses but could not, so he will give you the Oculus Crescent

Boss Fight: The Keeper and the Kin

Moveset:

The Keeper

  • Jump Attack: The Keeper will jump in and then dive with his cleaver down.
  • Stab: The Keeper will briefly charge his attack then release a stab attack. He will perform another swing but upwards when he reaches half health.
  • Swing: The Keeper will swing his cleaver down without jumping in this attack.

The Kin

  • Axe Swing: The Kin will swing his axe downwards. He will perform a double swing when he reaches half health.
  • Jumping Axe Swing: The Kin will jump and swing down with his ace to the ground.
  • Bow Shot: The Kin will draw his bow and shoots a single arrow at you.

Strategy:

The Keeper and the Kin will attack you simultaneously so you will have to try to avoid both of their attacks and deal damage to them both. They both perform similar attacks where they will perform a jump attack, which can easily be timed to dodge out of the way to avoid the attack. Another similar attack they both do is a basic swing or stab with their weapons, but when 50% of their health has been depleted, they will perform a double swing in a faster motion. Perform a dodge roll to avoid these attacks. Lastly, The Keeper will perform a single swing attack and will not change in variation regardless of health. Dodging into The Keeper before his cleaver lands on the ground will give enough time for players to dodge out of the way of the impact. The Kin will lastly perform a range attack where he will draw his bow and shoot it towards you. It goes down diagonally towards the players so dodge backwards to avoid the attack.

Place of Gathering

After defeating Shirenna, True Herbalist, head to the doorway on the left to find a room with a Beacon in the middle. Activate the beacon and head towards the door on the left to find out it has to be opened from the other side. Instead, stand on the stairs to reach the grappling target and head up to pick up 3 Twin Mosspyr. Continue upwards to the platforms above to find a door on the left, open it and enter to reach the Choir Hall. Before continuing on to the Choir Hall, head to the right side of the platforms to find an NPC in the middle platform. After speaking to him for the first time, speak to him again to get the options to talk, curse, annihilation, buy, or leave. Continue onto the right and there will be a door, open this door to unlock the shortcut back to the House of the Champions.

Choir Hall

When you enter from the Place of Gathering, continue along the path to find a new type of enemy with a staff. Above the enemy is a ladder leading to a zipline system. Continue along towards the left to find a larger enemy with the Oculus Crescent weapon. Carefully clear out the area as this larger enemy could ram you down the stairs. Once cleared, you can make your way up or down, for now, head down. On the middle platform, you will be able to pick up 3 Twin Goldenpyr but there will be lasers that will deal damage to you if you get hit by the lasers. Directly below the first laser, is a locked door, on the right is another door that opens from the other side. Continue making your way down while being wary of the lasers and levitating enemies with chained scythes. Once you make your way to the very bottom there will be a room towards the right. The room will have some enemies and some lasers in the beginning, so clear them then continue onward and upward. Once you reach to the far left side while making your way up, you will find 2 wooden platforms, one on top of the other. Make your way to the platform on the top and perform a dodge roll into the wall to the left to find a secret wall. In this room, there is a chest with the Cantor's Mask, Cantor's Vestments, Cantor's Sleeves, and Cantor's Pathfinders. Exit the secret room and continue to the right of this area, make your way up and back to the left to find the Choir Hall Key, and a door right beside it. Open it to reach the top of the room with the lasers, the Choir Hall Key unlocks the locked door directly underneath the laser. Enter this new area and carefully make your way down the broken platforms being wary of the enemies and lasers. At the very bottom of this area are two large enemies with the Oculus Crescent weapons. On the other side, make your way up by wall jumping and using the grappling target to reach the ledge. There you will find and Obelisk to activate, continue through the entrance on the right to reach the boss arena of The Four Divines.

After defeating The Four Divines, make your way to the right of the arena, to the left to find an entrance. Enter to find a narrow area, and make your way up and into another entrance to a new area. Continue upwards to find a zipline system, next to it you can pick up 3 Goldenpyr Trio. For now, take the zipline up and pick up the Warehouse Key. Open the door beside it to unlock the shortcut back to the Beacon. Below the zipline, there is a platform you can drop onto, there you can pick up a Golden Staff. Drop down again back to the base of the zipline system to find a door to the far right. Go through the door to reach The First Alkymancery.

Boss Fight: The Four Divines

the four divines boss sns wiki guide 300px

Loot:

  • N/A

Moveset:

  • Projectiles: They will position their skeleton arms on both sides of their heads to shoot out some projectiles. Players can dodge out of the way to avoid the projectiles.
  • Lasers: They will position their skeleton arms above their head to shoot out a laser briefly. Players may need to perform a dodge roll to avoid this attack.
  • Scratch: When the player is closer, they will try to scratch at you with their skeleton hands. Dodge out of the way to avoid this attack.

Strategy:

There will be four rotating heads and several grappling targets and platforms for players to use throughout this boss fight. When a mask turns upside down, this will reveal some purple tentacles and purple skeleton arms below and an eye above. If you're at a distance away, the masks will do one out of two attacks. One is when they have their skeleton arms to the sides and shoot out projectiles, the projectiles are pretty slow so you will be able to dodge out of the way to avoid this attack. Another one is if they position their skeleton arms above their head and shoot out a laser. The laser will go by quickly but players might have to perform a dodge roll to avoid this attack. The weakness of these masks is the eye that opens up when the mask is turned. As these masks rotate, players will have to dodge out of the attacks and attack the eye, using a ranged weapon works the best as the eye will not often line up with the platforms in this area. Sometimes two masks will turn and attack you, so players will need to watch out for multiple attacks.

The First Alkymancery

When you reach this area, head down the stairs leading to the right. Make your way down until you reach a door. Enter this area and make your way up the platforms to the door on the other end to open up the shortcut back to Old Altarstone, The Drowned City. Head back into the room between the shortcuts and drop to the bottom to fight an enemy and pick up 3 Mosspyr Trio. Return to The First Alkymancery, and continue going down. Continue along the path to the left to see that you can choose to continue the path to the left or head down towards the right. For now, go down to the right by grappling down to find a new type of enemy that shoots projectiles that explode and affect quite a large area but they are quite weak so try to get around the projectiles and attack them. There is also a larger enemy that resembles a knight, beside the knight is a door that can be opened from the other side. Behind the smaller enemy on the right, you can pick up 3 Twin Frospyr. Go back and take the path on the right and clear the enemies along the way, then head through the next area. Head down the steps and continue making your way down, at the bottom you will find a doorway to the next area. In the new area, you can choose to continue on the path to the right or go below the doorway and clear out the enemies below and continue down to find 2 large spiderlike enemies. Behind them is a long ladder, climb up to enter a small room with a chest in it. Open the chest to receive the Sentinel Mask, Sentinel Cuirass, Sentinel Grips, Sentinel Greaves, and Cerulean Halberd. Head back on the path to the right is a large spiderlike enemy, clear out this area and hop onto the platform with the small enemy to reach another doorway. Through this doorway, you will find a zipline system to unlock. Take the zipline up to reach a set of stairs, and open the door at the top to reach a shortcut back to a previous area. Return to the previous area by the base of the zipline, and continue down the steps to clear more enemies. Reach the other side to find an Obelisk, activate it, and continue on with the grappling hooks to reach a boss arena of Barix, First of the Marked

Once you've defeated Barix, First of the Marked, continue toward the right and you will encounter an NPC named Cantor Zanya, who is the Keeper of the Choir Hall. When you interact with her, you will have the option to choose Second Time, Choir Hall, or just leave. Behind her are some platforms to reach a higher area. Hop onto the first platform to pick up 3 Frospyr Trio. Continue up until you reach an entrance to a new area. Enter and make up and pick up 3 Voidepyr Trio. Continue up to open up a door that acts as a shortcut back to OldAtlarstone, The Drowned City.

Boss Fight: Barix, First of the Marked

barix first of the marked boss sns wiki guide 300px

Loot:

Moveset:

  • Charge Swing: Barix will either perform this on the ground or as an airborne attack where he will swing his sword and blue waves come from his sword that damage players.
  • Charge Stab: Barix will be in stance and charge towards the player while blue waves will follow up behind which also damages players.
  • Stab: Barix will briefly charge up and stab towards the player.
  • Swing: Barix will perform multiple swings toward the ground gradually moving closer to the player.
  • Stab charge: Barix will stab the ground which will release an aura that damages players within range.
  • Roll Attack: Barix will perform a jump roll and swing his sword down onto the ground.

Strategy:

Phase 1:

Barix will perform 2 types of blue wave attacks, one of which is that he will be in stance and charge toward players while a blue wave will catch up behind Barix and damage you while you are behind him. Another attack is that he will swing his sword towards you and blue waves will follow after the swings and damage you, he will either perform this attack on the ground or in the air. To counter these attacks dodge away and get far from him so you won't be able to get hit by the blue waves. The more basic attacks that he does are either stabbing or swinging at you. While he tries to stab you, you can dodge into him to avoid the attack, as for the swings, he will swing down multiple times trying to hit you. This does take a bit of time so you will have enough time to dodge out of the way from the attacks.

Phase 2:

In phase 2, his health regenerates and he grows larger in size. All of his attacks in phase one will be seen in phase two with some changes such as a roll attack, where he performs a jump roll and swings down toward the ground. To avoid this, simply dodge toward him so that he'll end up landing. A new attack that he does is that he will stab his sword to the ground and release a charged aura that will damage you if you are near it. You will be able to tell when he will attack as he takes a stance and stabs his sword into the ground, this will take some time but shortly after the aura will burst so its best to get as far as you can when you see him in his stance.
